September 2018 Say hello

BIOGRAPHY

I live and breathe design, and am stoked to be able to do what I love every day – designing, writing, thinking and creating.

I've worked for exciting global brands such as Amazon, Jack Daniels and Ford – at agencies and studios including J Walter Thompson, Ogilvy, Grey and Splendid Communications, Villa Maria, James Glancy Design, designing print and digital billboards, press ads, social media, EDMs, banners, HTML newsletters, illustrations, and retouching concepts for pitches.

I also work with direct clients on an on-going basis, including some awesome and inspiring consultants, Rob Grundel of Somekind and Tony Clement of Canvas8. It's a great feeling to be involved from the early concept stage of an idea and see it grow. I'm a systemic thinker, and enjoy creating brand identities with a suite of assets and guidelines to roll out across collateral consistently and efficiently.

I studied a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at the University of the Arts London, tutored by Derek Yates, which I completed in 2013. After the end of year exhibition, my artwork was sold to the late Chris Wainwright, Dean of the University. My areas of study were sustainability and participatory design. I understand the current challenges we face and am commited to making a positive impact on people and the environment. I've been honoured to assist with the exhibition of the Icograda Archives at the London College of Communication, Typetasting at the V&A and Signpainters screening by Ghost Signs.

I've also been involved in the arts and public sector. When I was 19, I worked at Nacro doing youth work and arts-related projects, and organised small music gigs at a local venue. I've worked with Dartford Council in my hometown, to do experiential projects like Dartford Assembly, Hidden Arts Hunt, and Revival Exhibition. I designed a CD cover for Trace Elements, for established musicians Steve Melling and Art Themen, and designed a book, cover and illustrations for naturopathic therapist, Anne-Lise Miller.

I grew up on the outskirts of London, UK and was lucky enough to experience a vibrant music and art scene. Music has been a big inspiration to me. I'm now based in Auckland, New Zealand, where I live by the harbour. I'm an ocean and nature lover, and love to get out to the coast to get soak up some inspiration. When I'm not designing, I'm usually cooking, writing, taking photos or surfing!
